Villa Savoye is an iconic modernist villa in Poissy, France, built between 1928 and 1931. It was designed by the pioneering Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier[1], often considered one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. Villa Savoye is a masterpiece of the International Style, embodying the principles of modern architecture that prioritize functionality, simplicity, and the use of new materials such as reinforced concrete. I made this digital model for a research project completed at YTU in 2007. The project was about using analytical visuals and their specific and potential uses in architectural education. Previously, I made a blog post[2] in 2013 about the panoramic views I generated from the model. Recently, I revisited this model along with the animations. The model is accurate enough for most uses.
I made this digital model using the internet reference images and the plan and section drawings. You can find it useful for animation and 3d printing. The original model was in 3D Studio format. However, I converted and edited it in Rhinoceros recently. Nevertheless, it is a well-organized model suitable for rendering and animation purposes in your projects.
I formatted this Rhinoceros 7 model mesh and saved it as a 3dm file. In addition, I also saved it in obj format as mesh objects. If you liked this content and want to use it in your visualization projects, you can download the digital files of Villa Savoye from my Patreon page[3]. So, I would be glad if you support me there. Cheers.
