This is a return to the Swirly Flames tutorial I made in 2013 here.[1] Since then, Photoshop changed a bit. There is no more Variations[2] tool. Therefore, I had to use other tools such as Color Balance, Hue/Saturation, Inverse, etc. to achieve the same effect. It is still cool for me, personally, although we are in the age of AI-generated images now. It is not the visual result only, but the memories it carries until today. You can also follow me on my Instagram account here[3].
Nowadays, I am translating the lecture of Michael Sugrue, about the second phase of Ludwig Wittgenstein. This attempt at more swirly flames inspires me and somehow makes me think of the two philosophies of Wittgenstein. I just wanted to put some of his words from Tractatus to complement these interesting and random images:
[1] “The world is everything that is the case.”, Tractatus, 1
[2] “Everything that can be said can be said clearly.”, Tractatus, 4.116
[3] “Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.”, Tractatus, 7
Of course, it is very difficult to understand at the first trial, what those sentences mean. I am struggling but doing my best to grasp his ideas. This makes me feel a very familiar connection here. I believe that if I manage to complete the translation, I would better understand his philosophy of language. Maybe, I will also publish my studies about him on this website. I know, it is not about design or coding, but anyway, it would be a good record for a personal blog.
