Here is the video of the project Life Sciences, designed together with Fulya Akipek, and engineered by Filika Interactive.

To be presented in the 2014 Vitra Contemporary Architecture Series Exhibition[1], Life Sciences is an interactive project[2] produced by Filika Interactive[3] using Openframeworks following the conceptual and visual design by Fulya Özsel Alipek and Tuğrul Yazar[4]. The project is an interactive presentation of the content obtained from the interviews made with primary education students by artists in a visual structure that resembles a plant rhizome under 5 categories: subject, space, time, object, and senses.

The content rooted in such interviews is made on a projection screen out of the words extracted from the SQLite database with certain functions. Made up of the words that piece together, sentence groups are seen on the curves generated by Perlin Noise as persistent oscillations. In parallel with the above-mentioned 5 different categories, the area of interaction across the screen is split into 5 sub-areas equal in terms of width. From each sub-area, audience motion is detected by a webcam using Open CV Optical Flow. In the area of motion, related category’s words are highlighted and so the oscillation of a sea of typographic sentences is triggered.
